Ffern’s highly anticipated release for Summer was fast approaching, but they didn’t want to push back their migration from Gatsby to Next.js by yet another quarter. Instead they teamed up with candycode. We performed the migration in parallel to ensure that they could launch their new fragrance and migrate their React framework in rapid succession.

By performing weekly rebases to continuously integrate upstream changes and handle merge conflicts, no code freeze was required. That empowered the Ffern engineering team to continue to push updates and ship new features on their Gatsby site all the way up until the day of the final migration to Next.js.
